Proven partnerships
SingleSource® has collaborated with more than 300 healthcare facilities to enhance their contract staffing outcomes. Here are just a few examples:
Organization:
Allina Hospitals & Clinics
One of the largest integrated healthcare systems in the U.S., includes 11 hospitals, 39 medical clinics, 22 hospital-based clinics, 15 community pharmacies and four ambulatory care centers.
Challenge:
Allina’s agency staffing approach was fragmented, time consuming and fell upon busy nurse managers and administrative staff to manage, including:
- Call, email, and fax orders to over 39 agencies
- Process over 7,000 agency bills and invoices
- Maintain a non-standardized and paper-based credentialing process
Solution:
In March 2006, Allina partnered with SingleSource® managed staffing program to oversee their entire supplemental workforce needs. Results include:
- $2.463 million saved in first year of agreement.
- Allina’s agency fill rates prior to SingleSource® were 34%, well below the national average of 50%. Allina now enjoys overall fill rates of 90%.
- Allina receives one consolidated invoice for all agency charges.
“SingleSource acts as an effective traffic control tower for the system’s hospitals and clinics, coordinating multiple arrangements with multiple providers.”
Organization:
Huguley Memorial Medical Center
Located in Forth Worth, Texas, the center includes a 213-bed acute care hospital, two intensive care units, progressive care unit, open heart surgery center, behavioral health center and emergency department.
Challenge:
Huguley was managing 27 different staffing agencies, creating a significant administrative and costly burden. Their goal was to create a more stable pool of nurses, while managing down costs.
Solution:
After entering an agreement with SingleSource®, Huguley has:
- Reduced costs by 24% during their first year of agreement
- Achieved a fill rate between 90 to 95% of supplemental staff
- Freed up time and resources to focus on the delivery of care to patients
“We have saved more than $600,000 our first year, plus we save time from the administrative hassles of dealing with up to 27 different agencies. But the biggest benefit is harder to quantify – the care we give our patients.”
Organization:
MedStar Health
A community-based network of eight hospitals and other healthcare services, MedStar Health is the largest hospital and healthcare provider in the Maryland/Washington D.C. region.
Challenge:
MedStar Health sought an effective solution to bring system-wide enhancements and efficiencies to the management of its local, contract nurse and allied healthcare staffing program. MedStar’s goal is to reduce its total annual cost of contract labor from its current level of nearly $90 million.
Solution:
MedStar Health signed an exclusive, three-year managed staffing partnership agreement with Medfinders’ SingleSource®. The agreement, which is the largest of its kind in the U.S., is expected to reduce MedStar’s annual contract labor costs by 20%-25% while also improving order processes, compliance procedures, and overall quality of nurse and allied staff.
“We couldn’t be more pleased about our decision to engage Medfinders’ SingleSource®. While the partnership will deliver significant cost savings to our healthcare system, its primary objective is to leverage Medfinders’ and its affiliated companies’ expertise to improve the quality and supply of nurse and allied staff, which enhances our ability to deliver exceptional care to our valued patients.”
